Welcome to the joyful coastal town of Aqaba, Jordan’s gate to the magical Red Sea! With an ideal location near the famous historical destinations, it is the perfect place to chill out between the different excursions. And, if you’re in desperate need of a break from your routine, trust me, everything is better on the beach. Come on, bring your sunblock and sunglasses because we are going to the Aqaba Beaches!
With such striking beauty and picturesque nature, the beach town of Aqaba has become one of the world’s popular holiday destinations. Famous for the fancy resorts, turquoise water, perfect weather, and enthralling marine life, Aqaba must atop your bucket list of Jordan. Stretching for about 180 kilometers, the Gulf of Aqaba’s shoreline is shared with Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Israel, with 27 kilometers that belong to Jordan. One of the highlights of your Aqaba trip is a boat ride to the Gulf’s center. Let me depict the scene for you! You will be in the middle of the water, enjoying the tranquil environment and sunshine as you admire the glamorous view of the four shorelines all at once. All you see is the soothing water and all you hear is the birds’ humming. Tempted yet?! Let’s find out more about the marvelous Aqaba beaches.
Aqaba boasts a diversity of splendid options when it comes to beaches. From public beaches and private ones to luxury resorts and pampering spa experiences, Aqaba will never disappoint you. Starting with the Middle Beach Zone, you will be rewarded with stunning golden beaches with local cafes, giving you a glimpse of the Jordanian culture. As for the Southern Beach Zone, it is the ideal destination for diving enthusiasts and snorkeling lovers. Swim among the colorful fish and exotic marine creatures as you marvel at the underwater treasure and outstanding coral reefs. The area is also packed with many professional diving centers, where you can learn how to dive properly or simply go on a diving trip, accompanied by one of their team. As a protection, just remember to wear water-friendly diving shoes as there may be some stone and gravel among the sand. If you’re seeking a public beach, you won’t find better than Al-Hafayer Beach, Aqaba Marine Park. Being the only private beach in South Beach, Aqaba, it can get much crowded during the holidays and high seasons. However, it is a great place for swimming, with 11 unique diving spots, including the Yamanieh Coral Reef. The place also encompasses a small market, local restaurant, and the Kid-friendly Visitor Center, which showcases Aqaba’s rich marine life. I can say with confidence; it is your ideal destination to leave your troubles behind as you bask in the sun with a cold drink in your hands.
If you want more privacy, many private beaches, just down the shore, offers a relaxing atmosphere all year round. Aside from the beach hotels and resorts, other non-beach hotels offer access to some of the private beaches within their packages. Kick-off summer with a day at one of these private beaches, with only an entry fee. You can spend a day at Berenice Beach Club, with its pool, restaurant, and boutique shops. It also features one of the amazing diving sites, Black Rock, where you can go snorkeling or diving. Or, you have a sandy escape at the beautiful Tala Bay Beach Club. It is not a primary diving spot, however, it is perfect for a typical beach trip. Here comes my favorite; Royal Diving Beach Club, one of the most stunning spots ever, with its amazing Coral Garden. Do you want to go swimming? Or, do you seek more adventurous activities? – This place has something for
everyone! And, if you seek a lazy beach day, just lie down on the golden sand and relax. Also, we can’t surpass the B12 Beach Club at Ayla Oasis, an exciting place with an entertainment area and diversity of water sports. Yes, we are saving the best for last! If you want to have a typical Red Sea experience, then, the Aqaba South beach is the place for you, with its beautiful, clear water, shallow bays, and vibrant coral reefs. Excited? – I know I am!
