Take a scenic drive from Aqaba to Petra, with a 15-minute stop at a souvenir store, where you can shop for authentic Jordanian mementos. Once you arrive at the Petra Visitors Center, you will then set off on a walking adventure to the Eighth Wonder of the World. After an 800-meter walk, you will then reach the iconic Siq; a rock canal formation which is 1200 meters in length, and ranges between 3 to 12 meters in width, and stands 80 meters tall.
The Siq is the last destination before you reach Petra’s most magnificent site – the Treasury, or Al Khazna.
The path then broadens into a wide street of facades, with tombs flanked on either side. The Street of Facades leads to a 5,000-seat theatre, carved right in the middle of the cemetery area. Once you arrive at western side of Jebel Khubtha, you will be greeted by the final destination of the journey, The Royal Tombs. You will then make your way back to the Visitors Center followed by a short bus ride to a local restaurant where you can enjoy an authentic Jordanian lunch buffet, before making the trip back to Aqaba.
